Our Services
Day Program
Carmel’s Day Program provides a variety of supports and services that focus on using the community as a learning environment, including diverse opportunities to build supports throughout the community.
Although our participants do have fun at day program, there is an underlying purpose for each activity. The activities we plan with our participants help them develop or maintain valuable life skills and/or help integrate them into their communities; for example: community orientation, money management and purchasing skills, fine and gross motor abilities and job-related skills.
We also develop partnerships with other community members and organizations to provide volunteer opportunities for individuals or small groups, such as at the Humane Society, Meals on Wheels and other agencies.
Each month, staff and participants develop a calendar of events and outings which may include museums, tours of local businesses, visiting local parks or national forests and other special events in addition to the regularly scheduled activities such as bowling, swimming, classes and volunteer opportunities.
